Our Mission: To build a community of peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all people. The YWCA focuses on empowering women, preventing violence and eliminating oppression.
What We Do: Over 10,000 people served each year, including victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and child abuse; youth aging out of foster care; homeless preschool children; and women in jail.

About Our Advocacy Policies

YWCA Clark County is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving women, children and families in Clark County. As a mission driven, multi-service organization we strive to:

  • Empower women, children and families
  • Build a stronger, healthier and more vibrant community
  • Advocate for social and racial justice
  • Eliminate racism

Advocacy, education, and leadership are integral components of the YWCA's work. We provide opportunities for women and girls to help themselves grow personally and professionally through leadership positions, education, and community recognition.

Leadership

Women and girls from the community can enhance their leadership skills by formulating and implementing YWCA policy on the Board of Directors and other essential committees.

Community Recognition

Women and young women are recognized for leadership and outstanding community service through the Women of Achievement Awards and the Young Women of Achievement Awards. The Val Joshua Award recognizes individuals and organizations for furthering the YWCA mission.
