Adriana wanted desperately to escape the violent relationship that was threatening her four children. Without a firm grasp of English, seeking help seemed impossible. She asked for guidance at her children’s school, and was directed to YWCA; the only provider of domestic violence services in Clark County offering Spanish-speaking advocates, and a Latina women’s group.
Adriana worked with advocates to develop a plan to safely leave her abuser. With self-determination, the comforts of her primary language, and empowerment based advocacy, Adriana found hope, help and happiness for herself and her children at YWCA Clark County.
