Social Change Program
The Social Change Program’s number-one goal is to create an opportunity for citizens of Clark County, young and old, to begin safely thinking about their own viewpoints and discussing issues of racism and other forms of oppression. We want to help people:
- Honestly look at how they’ve been taught to pre-judge others different from them
- Be willing to take risks to discuss this with other people
- Respect that they don’t all come from the same experience, which causes them to think that the way they’ve done things is the only way
- Own their own experience, recognize where they need to grow and be willing to have conversations with folks who are different from them
- Honor and respect what has been shared with them and find ways to incorporate people who are different from them into their daily life
