volunteer at ywca clark county
Dear Potential Volunteer,
Thank you for your interest in volunteering for the YWCA Clark County.
The success of the YWCA Clark County rests in the strength and energy
of its dedicated volunteers who contribute both time and talent to the
organization. YWCA volunteers engage in all types of activities. Program
volunteers work with homeless children, youth aging out of foster care,
female inmates, and victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and
child abuse and neglect. Other volunteers support administrative needs,
special events, marketing, and fundraising.
Please visit our page with current information about volunteer
opportunities. If you are interested in volunteering after reading
this information, please print out and complete the Application
for Volunteer Service (MS Word) and mail it to the YWCA. It is especially
important that you complete the section asking for reference names and
addresses. We also welcome you to attend one of our quarterly Introduction to Volunteer Services sessions to learn more about our programs.
The State of Washington requires a criminal background search on all our
staff and program volunteers. Please complete the Washington State Patrol
Criminal History Form, which is included as part of the volunteer application.
Once your application is received, your references and criminal history
will be checked. Training is the next step
and is offered three times a year. You will also have an interview with
YWCA staff, usually the director or coordinator of the program in which
you are interested. Depending on the program, this interview may be scheduled
before, during, or after training.
If you have any questions or would like to check on the status of your
application, please feel free to call me at 360-696-0167 or contact me
via email at aflory@ywcaclarkcounty.org.
Sincerely,
Al Flory
