youth social justice award

We are excited to announce that YWCA Clark County has created a new award to honor youth and/or youth groups, youth organizations, or school clubs that have demonstrated leadership in the area of social change.

Who's eligible:

  • Young men and women that are students in grades nine through twelve.
  • Youth groups, youth organizations or school clubs whose membership consists primarily of students in grades nine through twelve.

Selected award recipients will have:

  • demonstrated leadership or have been involved in activities focused on positive social change, violence prevention or the elimination of oppression.
  • been involved in specific activities that work toward peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all people.
  • helped create positive social change in Clark County.

One individual, youth group, youth organization or school club will be selected to receive the 2007 YWCA Youth Social Justice Award. The Youth Social Justice Award will be presented alongside the Val Joshua Racial Justice Award at the YWCA's Annual Celebration on January 23, 2008.
